There is nothing worse for a writer than a blank screen with a blinking cursor and nothing important to say.

Promise me, if you ever find yourself sitting there in front of your blinding computer screen, with bloodshot eyes, trying to think of something clever to say that you will do this instead: Write whatever pops into your head, even if  ‘nothing’ pops into your head, rather than sit there stressing yourself out.

Because nothing cures the blank screen blues like action does.

It doesn’t matter what you write, just write.

The “Robot Overlords” Have Arrived

The bad news:

The “ROBOT OVERLORDS” are here to take your job from you. In fact, if my estimates are correct they will be taking over millions of jobs in the next three to five years.

First, they will replace almost all low-income precision manufacturing jobs in factories. Then they will slowly starve you to death if you fail to adapt to the times. This is definitely not good news if we enter a double dip recession in 2012!

[Proof!] It’s Happening Now:
“Foxconn, a company that manufacturers parts used in Apple’s iPhone and iPad, said it aims to replace workers with 1 million robots in the next three years, Xinhuanet reports.

“The robots will be assigned simple tasks currently done by human workers, such as welding and assembling parts. Foxconn currently has 10,000 robots; in the next year, this number should jump to 300,000 and up to 1 million in the next three years.” — src: http://mashable.com/2011/08/01/foxconn-robots/

Yep, humans are being replaced by one million robots in this company alone. This is only one of the companies in the tech sector!

This ISN’T science fiction. I really wish it was. This is the world we live in.

First it was machines operated by honest men and women with a beating heart. Now there won’t even be a need for a man or woman to operate those machines. The robots are slowly taking over the world whether we like it or not. That’s life…

The Weird Thing Is That This Is Great News For Our Industry, AND YOU if you are paying attention!

“Why?” Because there will be MILLIONS OF UNEMPLOYED people looking for some legitimate way to make ends meet and they aren’t going to have very many options.

This means that they will be turning to our industry. They will be turning to you for guidance in the coming years. They will desperately need your help.

You see, this is an industry built on leadership and you have become a leader by default simply by arriving at the window of opportunity before everybody else…

You can “shrug off” your responsibility to help others learn how to adapt to the times and become one of them… or,

You can see the path ahead and take the steps needed to climb to the top and pull your family, friends and others up from the cliff they are desperately clinging to.
