Home Business Tip of the Day: The Best Way to Buy Low and Sell High

The Best Way to Buy Low and Sell High
By Jason Holland

Valerie Johnson, a college dropout with few prospects, was at a party when a child walked out in some “footie” pajamas. Another guest joked that they wished those pajamas came in adult sizes. And that gave Valerie an idea for a business.

But she didn’t want to hand sew all the orders that came in. So she looked online for possible suppliers online and found a website – an online clearinghouse really – that links manufacturers in China and other countries with entrepreneurs all over the world. There, she found someone to make the pajamas.

And a couple of emails later, she was selling her pajamas online at bigfeetpjs.com. Her first year, she made $360,000. That doubled the next year and the next … and today, after four years in business, she’s making nearly $2 million annually.

Not bad for a little business that Valerie ran from the home office in her basement.

“I think it’s awesome that someone can easily find international manufacturers from the basement of her home,” said Valerie. “I will always give credit to the website I found for enabling me to start my business quickly, easily, and on my terms.”

You can follow in Valerie’s footsteps with your own Carefree Business. The economics are simple: buy low (very low) from manufacturers in China and other sources of manufactured goods, sell at below-market prices, and keep the difference.

Yes, you’ve heard of this business model before. But I can bet you didn’t know how easy it was for small-scale, first-time entrepreneurs to make money with it.

Being Online Is Key

The key is to find your suppliers using the same online resource that Valerie and thousands of other entrepreneurs are using. It’s a trusted source for high-quality products – manufactured in many cases by the same people who make products for big-name retailers. And this website is set up to make it easier than ever for manufacturers and sellers (that’s you) to do business.

Part two is to sell your products online. You never even have to touch the products themselves – if you don’t want to. They’re shipped directly to your customers from the factory. That means no shipping or storing a warehouse full of stuff.

And you don’t have to have your own idea for a product like Valerie did. There are thousands of factories already making thousands of “hot” products already. And you can sell just about anything: parkas, dog collars, MP3 players, nutritional supplements, board games … Think about everything you own that’s “Made in China” … that’s what’s possible.

Whatever niche your Carefree Business is in … you’re covered.

The website that Valerie used to kick off her business? It’s the leading online clearinghouse for importers (especially for new entrepreneurs like you) and suppliers: Alibaba.com.

Alibaba.com is where you find your suppliers. The site has 25 million members in 200 countries who trade $6 billion worth of goods every year. It’s kind of like eBay. But instead of dealing with one sale at a time, you can import products for pennies on the dollar and sell them at a huge markup online.

When you combine Alibaba.com with an easy system for running your own import/export business, you’ll have the makings of a very profitable business.

The Time Is Now to Get In On This Business

“Today, entrepreneurs can start an import/export business from the comfort of their home with a computer with Internet access and a phone line,” says Marc Charles, an entrepreneur who’s been involved in this niche. “The import/export market is a multi-trillion dollar market – and it’s growing by leaps and bounds every day, even in a horrible economy. On top of that, there has never been a better time to get into this business. The Internet has made it easier than ever.”

One couple, Kevin and Lisa Hickey, followed this business model and built a $25 million business in just eight years. They started by selling American flags from their basement “office.” Sales really took off after Sept. 11. And when the bird flu epidemic hit, they were ready with surgical masks. Today, they sell 10,000 products on several sites. (You can check out one of them at onlinestores.com.)

Caroline Lau noticed that several of her friends were avid scrapbookers. She did a little research and found that a full-fledged scrapbooking trend was sweeping the country. But nobody was selling high-quality supplies for a good price. So Caroline tapped into the same website that put Kevin and Lisa Hickey and Valerie Johnson in business. Her first year, she brought in more than $100,000 … and her profits are now over $1 million annually.

Yes, it’s possible for small-time, new entrepreneurs to succeed. You can get started with about $500 – much less in many cases. And, as you can see from the entrepreneurs profiled above, you don’t need any experience in business or import/export. You just need to identify a need or hot trend in the marketplace and start a business to take advantage.

In this business model, Carefree Entrepreneurs can find partners, suppliers, and manufacturers all over the world with Alibaba.com. (All verified to be on the level – or they wouldn’t be allowed on the site.)

You make contact and then set up deals. For most products, no licenses, permits, or government paperwork is involved. The agreements you draw up with your suppliers is all you need. And language is not a barrier. Everybody speaks English.

Not only that, you can also do everything online – from researching “hot” products using many of the same tools you’ve used so far to pick the niche for your online business to getting those products for pennies on the dollar and selling those products at enormous markups on your own websites or sites like eBay and Amazon Marketplace.

The import/export business is a potentially very lucrative second stream of income for anyone who’s looking for extra money now. It’s also perfect for those who want to sock away some cash for a comfortable retirement.

Editor’s Note:

There’s No Reason Why You Shouldn’t Be the Next Success Story …

It’s no secret China exports billions and billions of dollars’ worth of in-demand products to the USA (and other countries) every year.

Who’s doing all the importing? Well … you might think only “big corporations” are in on it.

But one of the most experienced business experts we work with (he’s launched more than 40 successful businesses over the past 28 years) has discovered a way for ANYONE … regardless of experience, education, or amount of start-up capital … to profit from Chinese imports.

He wants to show you how to get into the same type of easy-to-operate business. All you have to do is follow a simple and easy plan that walks you – step by step – through this online business that takes full advantage of our global economy and the Internet.

Take your first step here.

Home Business Tip of the Day: Narrowing Down Your Business’s Niche

Narrowing Down Your Business’s Niche
By Jason Holland

In the past several weeks, we’ve been going through the process of narrowing down your passions, interests, and hobbies into one business idea that has money-making potential.

Now we’re going to get even more in depth and figure out the specific niche within that broader topic you should go into. In today’s crowded Internet market having a very narrow niche is the only way to go – especially for new entrepreneurs.

For example, if “alternative health” is what you want to base your business on, that’s a good start. It’s a hot trend that won’t be slowing down any time soon.

But you have to go deeper in order to be successful. You have to figure out what specifically about alternative health you want to do. Maybe natural supplements for women over 50? Or natural cures for migraines?

We got started on this process by doing some basic market research with easy-to-use online tools in my last essay, “Get Ready.” Please take a moment to go through the steps in that essay first if you haven’t already pinned down the topic.

And by the way, there is a new bonus video presentation available to new Carefree Entrepreneur members. You are getting this newsletter free as part of your Early to Rise subscription. But to sign up officially and get the bonus, just go here.

Once you’ve done that, let’s keep going…

Because this is one of your passions in life… it shouldn’t take long to figure out a very specific sector of the market for your business.

Why get so specific? Wouldn’t trying to reach a larger market mean more customers and sales?

As a Carefree Entrepreneur, you don’t want to compete against Amazon and the big names in your market. It would mean working full time and then some with your business. And a huge investment of capital.

The Carefree Way is all about a great six-figure-plus income working just part time, with the opportunity to take time off whenever you want. No stress. No drama. Minimal start-up expenses.

That’s why finding a very specific niche is important. By positioning yourself as the go-to resource in a specific niche, customers will find you more easily, be primed to buy your products, and come back to your business again and again.

If you try to be all things to all people, you spread yourself too thin.

And don’t worry about having a smaller customer base by narrowing your niche. We’ll make sure you only go into markets with plenty of prospects and profit potential.

So let’s carve out your little slice of the Internet.

First step is to examine your chosen niche so far. Is it too broad? Are you interested in investment advice? Real estate tips? Dog training?

Those topics are definitely too broad. You have to drill down. Investment advice for baby boomers who didn’t save enough for retirement. Real estate tips for homebuyers seeking short sales. Dog training for aggressive breeds. You get the idea.

As Nick Usborne, creator of AWAI’s How to Write Your Own Money-Making Websitesprogram, says:

“We want to find an area of real interest to people that is not already being addressed by thousands of other better-established websites.”

Nick knows this first-hand. His own online business, which brings in $50,000 a year for just a few hours of work each week, centers around reviews of gourmet coffee and products like coffee makers – oriented towards beginners.

Another online entrepreneur using this method, Ellen Ferlazzo, makes a great living helping people learn to cook great meals on a budget. It’s chock-full of recipes and advice.

Brigitte Bradtke’s websites are centered on travel to Australia, specifically the wilderness area known as the Kimberley. She brings in about $10,000 a month. And she works only six months of the year.

Do you see how what these entrepreneurs are doing is powerful?

When you get specific with your niche, people visiting your business will know exactly what you are offering. And because you are specific, your site will rank higher in the search engines when people are looking for information. This brings customers primed to buy to your Carefree Business.

First, let’s brainstorm some possible niches within your topic.

Think of your business idea. Look back at your experiences – what specifically about this niche interests you? Can you get more specific?

When Nick was creating his own money-making website, he started with coffee – a very broad topic. So he started out by exploring some possible niches, including single-serve coffee makers, a coffee shop locator, and fair trade coffee beans.

To make sure you get specific enough, do what Nick does:

“Start with a general topic description, then a subtopic, and then an even smaller niche within the subtopic.”

Here’s another example Nick mentions in his program:

Gardening ? Gardening ponds ?Aquatic plants

Now try that with your niche.

Having trouble?

A great niche that can fit with just about any topic is catering to beginners. A beginner’s guide to yoga, for example.

As I mentioned, that’s what Nick did with his CoffeeDetective.com business. After exploring a variety of other topic niches, he finally settled on “beginners.” His audience is those new to gourmet coffee, not sure where to start. He reviews coffees, coffee makers, and other products and makes recommendations for newbies.

So go through the steps above until you’ve determined a couple of specific niches that you think make a good topic for your business.

The idea is to find a topic that interests you, is specific enough, and is in high demand. That’s the combination that will ensure your Carefree Business is profitable.

This, by the way, is the heart of Nick’s How to Write Your Own Money-Making Websites program. He teaches you how to create a passive income ($50,000+ per year) working just an hour or so a day on your own little online business. And he helps you pick a profitable niche that taps into a growing trend, launch a website, bring visitors, and best of all, earn a steady income.

You can find out more about Nick’s program here.

And one more thing…

Home Business Tip of the Day: Why Private Label Resell Rights (PLR) Are The Ultimate Short-Cut

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Why Private Label Resell Rights (PLR)

Are The Ultimate Short-Cut

- by Jim Edwards

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Whether you’ve heard of it or not, PLR (Private Label

Rights) content makes it much easier for anyone to get content for their online business, whether for blogging, special reports, ebooks, and even social media. Buying the rights to large chunks of content you don’t have to write can turn into the ultimate short-cut for time-starved online business owners.

But, beware! PLR also represents a double-edged sword that can land you in some hot water with Google and article directories if you’re not careful.

* Save Time / Avoid Effort *

It might seem obvious that you’ll save a bunch of time when you don’t have to create content yourself, but it goes way beyond that. Think about it. You don’t have to do the research. You don’t have to type it all up yourself. You don’t have to wait for the bulk of the work to get done by you or someone else. So you save time and avoid effort on a couple of different levels.

Also, unlike resell rights where you can only resell the content without making any changes, with PLR you can change it around and re-purpose it any way you want or need without asking anybody’s permission. This flexibility to make the content your own makes PLR particularly appealing.

Not only can you rewrite the content, you can also transform it into completely different mediums. You can record it as a podcast; make it into screen capture video; even turn it into a print book if you want.

* PLR Can Save You Money *

PLR definitely rates cheaper than hiring a ghost writer to create something specifically for you. And, if you need something customized, it’s a lot cheaper to have something rewritten than to have it written in the first place.

For example, a ghost-written ebook would cost you $500 – 1,000 minimum (bare minimum). But a PLR ebook on most topics doesn’t cost more than $50 – 100. Also, a quick tour of Fiverr.com or other freelance-style sites will quickly show you services to re-write content cost about 70-80% LESS than ghost writing.

So you could hire someone to re-write a 10,000 word ebook for you for about $50 – $100 and do a good job. (HINT: $5-10 per thousand words is a good rule of thumb.)

Why so much less? Because re-writing content is a LOT easier for a writer or editor than writing the same content from scratch.

* The BIGGEST Mistake People Make With PLR Content *

Despite the obvious advantages, PLR is not without its pitfalls. If you use content everyone else can buy rights to without making any changes, you keep yourself from getting certain advantages with Google or article directories because of something called “duplicate content.”

Duplicate content means just that, the same content as someone else who got there before you. Google doesn’t rank duplicate content very highly and submitting content already in the article directories will usually get your account shut down.

The biggest mistake people make with PLR is not changing it at all and trying to use it “as is.” The best thing you can do if you use PLR is to do one or more of the following with it.

First, re-write it or pay to have it re-written.

Second, target the content to a specific group of people (niche audience), like teachers or golfers or home builders.

That specific angle will make it immensely more valuable and help separate you in both the reader’s minds and the eyes of Google and the article directories.

Third, format the text so it looks neat, tidy, and professional. Appearance matters and most PLR content comes just as raw text.

PLR can be a great help in your business, especially if you’re pressed for time or don’t have the expertise in a particular subject area. Just make sure to add value to it and change it around before using it in your business or posting it to your website or blog.

Tip of The Day:
The Reason We Have Poverty…

Home Business Tip of the Day: Engagement Marketing

Imagine that you’re greatest goal in life is to get married. Here’s a guaranteed prescription for failure:

 1. Walk into a bar or nightclub where a lot of single people hang out

 2. Spot an attractive person already engaged in a conversation with someone else

 3. Barge in on that conversation, crashing into their table and knocking the bowl of pretzels on the table, their clothes and the floor

 4. As your opening line, blurt out in a loud obnoxious voice, “Will you marry me?”

 5. When they look at you like you’ve just escaped from an asylum, raise your voice even louder and repeat, “Marry me – NOW”

Sounds downright stupid, doesn’t it? And it’s guaranteed NOT to get the results you want.

But here’s the important question: is this much different than the way most companies market their products or services?

Most marketing interrupts your day with some over-the-top subject line… then proceeds to make some highly questionable promises… and closes by urging you to buy right now… then it urges you again to buy before it’s too late.

Not only is this the way NOT to market, but it’s a guaranteed formula for what I call “marketing suicide”. By using this approach, as so many businesses do, you’re locking in your own failure.

Fortunately, there’s a much more sane and effective way to market.

 ================================

 Introducing “Engagement Marketing”

 ================================

If you get to the core of what’s wrong with the typical marketing process I showed you above, what it all boils down to is you’re marketing to your prospects in a way that you hate being marketed to yourself.

So the solution has two simple parts:

 1. STOP marketing this way immediately

 2. Start inviting, engaging and solving

Let’s take a look at how this is done.

INVITE – Instead of beating your prospects over the head with a sales pitch right from the beginning, invite them to begin to get to know you. Give them some valuable content they can use to get a result they’ll remember – and do this without any sales pitch whatsoever.

ENGAGE – Keep building the relationship by giving them more content, completely free of any sales messages. Studies show that it takes a minimum of 7 contacts like this to establish a solid bond of trust with your prospects.

SOLVE – Instead of just showing prospects your product and it’s features and benefits, demonstrate exactly how it solves a difficult problem they have or helps them achieve an important goal.

Sound different than 99% of the marketing you see – possibly even yours?

You bet it does. And I’m sure you can see that by shifting to this style of marketing, which I call Engagement Marketing, you stand to make a lot more sales than you’re currently making with traditional marketing methods.

===============================

How to substantially increase your sales with Engagement Marketing

===============================

In a few weeks, I’ll be presenting a comprehensive new program that covers all the steps of my Engagment Marketing process:

> You’ll discover how to use “invitation marketing” to substantially increase the amount of traffic you drive to your site – and the quality of that traffic

> A simple engagement process that turns a list of cold prospects into a warm audience that enthusiastically looks forward to hearing from you

> Step-by-step details for using my simple “solution selling” approach to help your prospects truly get what they want by using your product or service – and ramp up your own sales at the same time

> How to expand your relationship with your warm audience and turn one-shot sales into dedicated customers who buy from you again and again

There’s a lot more, but I think you get the idea. If you want to be first in line to get all the details on Engagement Marketing once they’re ready, you can put your name on the Early Notice list by clicking here:
